Frequently asked questions
Broadband is the primary internet connection method used today, providing widespread access to services (with access to fibre broadband available to nearly everyone in the UK). Whether through copper wires or fibre optic cables, broadband connects your home to the internet. This enables your Wi-Fi hub to establish a network for your devices to connect to. Different types of broadband connections include full fibre (FTTP), part fibre (FTTC), copper (ADSL) and mobile broadband. Full fibre (FTTP) offers the fastest connection, while part fibre (FTTC) is a slightly slower due to copper cabling. Copper (ADSL) is slower and likely to be replaced by fibre in the future.
